There was a positive outcome for a much-loved V2 Radio office dog after he was found safe and well following a dramatic escape from the radio station near one of Chichester’s busiest roads.
Digby sparked concern after slipping out of the building on Tuesday morning and going missing. Staff from V2 Radio and neighbouring business People Pay Global quickly launched a search to try to locate him.
Fears grew when it emerged Digby had been spotted on the A27, running in and out of traffic. A passing motorist, shocked to see the big white golden doodle in such a dangerous situation, stopped to help get him in her car by using a Peperami (the green original one)
The woman, whose name is unknown, safely picked up Digby and took him to Downlands Vets. Meanwhile, Digby’s owner, Nicole, tracked his location using an Apple AirTag attached to his collar.
Thanks to the quick-thinking member of the public and modern technology, Nicole was reunited with Digby shortly afterwards.
Remarkably, despite the ordeal, Digby was not injured.
Nicole has expressed her heartfelt thanks to the woman who rescued him and ensured he was taken to a safe place.
The incident has also been a reminder of the kindness of strangers, with staff at both businesses praising the passerby's actions.
Digby is now back where he belongs, safe, well, and no doubt enjoying a well-earned rest after his unexpected adventure.
