A man from West Sussex has been basking in the world of being a new author - but his journey to get to this point hasn't been easy.

A man from West Sussex has been basking in the world of being a new author - but his journey to get to this point hasn't been easy.

In his latest venture, the pup takes on mystical adventures in 'Pawsland' - with stories featuring on the themes of 'love, kindness and sustainability.'

24 months ago, Mark Taylor saw himself battling severe depression after his elderly mother was diagnosed with early dementia.

He took a new job, but his mom had a fall - resulting in her becoming bed bound - and he didn't talk about how he felt.

But a postman found him as he was sat the side of the road in his car - who obliged him to phone home and turn his life around.

Now, he's turned to the world of kids books after being inspired by his new dog, Howard, as gratitude for his hound being his healing companion during this time.

He's now on a six book deal with a local publisher - and says he hopes the books make children smile.

His story has certainly inspired to get people talking.
