West Sussex Council are looking at how much they charge in tax – during what they is being called a ‘window of stability’ across the region's authorities.
It means people should expect to pay more in their rates – with 1.99 per cent going up generally, and an extra 1 per cent will be added on to help fund adult social care.
The Government allow councils to raise their general rates by 1.99 per cent.
Residents in West Sussex can expect to see their bills increase by an average of 87p a week - if they live in a Band D property - which comes to around £45 a year when they come into force in April.
This comes amid the current crisis hitting the pockets of us all, as fuel and food costs continue to rise - and interest rates too, as the Bank of England is expected to raise that soon too by 0.25 per cent.
