Technical

This is a page dedicated to the "Anoraks" (don't worry, we're Anoraks too!) and provides a behind-the-scenes look at everything we use to provide V2 Radio.

Audio

Our playout system (the thing that actually plays the music, sweepers, jingles, adverts, promos etc.) is the brilliant PlayoutONE, this is paired with MusicONE Pro which schedules all the music that we play and TrafficONE which schedules all the adverts.

The audio that comes from the studio is then processed by StereoTool to make things sound nice and loud and to keep all the volume levels consistent before it is then sent to our streaming server which runs Icecast2 - this is what sends the audio to our online player, mobile apps, smart speakers and on to the Now Digital Sussex DAB multiplex.

Website

This website is driven by the Aiir CMS, which also provides the Android and iOS apps.

Studio

Our studios were built by Neale Bateman and Steve Freegard.

We have one main on-air studio which features an AEQ Capitol 12 CS Digital Mixing desk.  All of the playout system inputs and outputs are handled with Dante AoIP.

All telephone lines are delivered using VoIP via Ringcentral and the studio uses MicroSIP to deliver audio to the mixer without the need for telephone hybrids.

We use Rode NT1 mics and Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro 80 Ohm headphones
