The Steakist - Arundel
The Steakist - Arundel
Nestled within Arundel's historic streets, The Steakist stands as a unique dining destination. Its location becomes an integral part of the experience, guiding visitors through Sussex's most charming and quaint streets, setting the tone for a memorable restaurant-going experience.
When we arrived. We were given the option of sitting either in the main restaurant or by the window. There are no wrong answers here, but we chose to sit by the window, enjoying our opening drinks with a view of one of the quaintest and characterful towns in Sussex.
Our culinary journey commenced with the prawn and garlic butter starter, an experience that pleasantly caught us off guard. The menu's description of "prawn" took us by surprise when an exceptionally massive prawn graced our table. I have genuinely never seen a prawn so big. Eating this behemoth was a joy. There was a char to the flavour which was delightful alongside the particularly meaty taste of the prawn.
For our mains, I went for the 12oz Rib-Eye and my girlfriend, Rosina had the Sirloin, although, we both ended up eyeing each other’s servings and exchanging cuts. The meat was cooked to perfection for both of us and tasted uniquely divine with a distinct smokey note being one stand-out point.
The staff were very friendly and personable. By the time they placed a dessert menu in front of us, we didn’t stand a chance. The Triple Chocolate brownie claimed both of our hearts and it did NOT disappoint. The salted caramel ice cream that accompanied was something that added an interesting twist to the dessert – a nice distinguishing element from other brownie-based puddings I’ve had in the past.
I decided to pair my brownie with an espresso martini from the cocktail menu, which went down beautifully. The dark coffee taste combined with the sweet richness of the dessert was the perfect note to end the evening on.
If you’re a steak-lover, you couldn’t pick a more special destination. The vibes are great, and the service is on point. It was a seriously unforgettable steak night!
