06:29 - Southern Railway say a tree is blocking the railway between Crowborough and Uckfield means all lines are blocked. Trains running between these stations will be revised to start and terminate at a different station.
06:25 - Message from Wightlink:
Severe Weather Conditions - Storm Austen Friday, 23 October
Following our update yesterday, the forecast for Friday, 23 October remains severe, although the storm is moving through. Storm Austen is still expected to bring extreme weather and strong winds, with the most severe disruption around the middle of the day across all three of our routes.
To keep our customers safe, we have cancelled several Car Ferry and FastCat sailings and are contacting all affected customers to offer an alternative sailing time. Safety must come first, and we will only operate services where conditions allow.
To give customers more options, we are running an extra round trip tonight, Thursday 22 October, departing Lymington at 22:00 and returning from Yarmouth at 23:00. If you’re booked to travel on Friday, you can move to this or any other operating sailing for free at wightlink.co.uk.
Please note there will be no trains between Ryde Esplanade and Ryde Pier Head on Friday.
For details of the cancelled sailings, please see our Live Service Status page at wightlink.co.uk/updates.
We are still monitoring conditions for Saturday and will update you on Friday morning if there are likely to be any changes to our services.
