Police in Chandler’s Ford have charged two boys as part of their investigation into the serious assault of five boys on Halloween.
A 16-year-old boy from Southampton, who we arrested on Monday morning, has been charged with wounding with intent.
A second 16-year-old boy, also from Southampton, who officers arrested on Tuesday, has been charged with attempted murder.
Both boys, who cannot be named for legal reasons, have been remanded in custody to appear at Southampton Magistrates' Court today.
The charges follow a report of an incident in which five boys, aged 16 and 17, suffered serious injuries while attending a supervised party at a house in Park Road, just after 10.30pm on Saturday 31 October.
During the incident, it’s alleged that an uninvited group gained entry to the party before seriously assaulting the victims. Four of the victims have been discharged from hospital, but one remains there in a serious condition.
As part of police enquiries, six boys in total have been arrested.
Yesterday police said that two had been bailed with conditions.
The further two 16-year-old boys from Southampton, who were arrested on Wednesday night and Thursday morning, have also now been released on bail.
All four boys have strict bail conditions in place, including locations they cannot travel to and people they cannot communicate with.
