A British-based fintech run by a former top executive at Morgan Stanley, the Wall Street giant, has landed almost £20m in funding from a syndicate of blue-chip investors.
Sky News understands that Hyperlayer, which raised £30m a year ago, will announce this week that it has secured a further £19.5m in a follow-on investment led by Flintlock Capital, an existing shareholder.
The round, which will be announced formally later this week, was undertaken at a post-money valuation of £195m, a slight premium to that of October 2025.

Hyperlayer, which operates a consumer-facing digital wallet called Hyperjar, intends to use the new capital to fund growth across its product, engineering and implementation teams, as well as expansion in the US, Europe and Asia-Pacific.
The company's Series A2 round also included participation from Mouro Capital, Susquehanna, and other existing and new investors.
Joe Shamess, co-founder and general partner at Flintlock Capital, is joining Hyperlayer's board of directors following the latest fundraising.
Hyperlayer also provides smart account technology on existing client infrastructure, and is said to work with a number of the world's 10 largest banks - although it has not publicly disclosed their identities.
It has also worked with Standard Life on a consumer money app aimed at people approaching or in early retirement.
The company has been run since 2023 by Rob Rooney, who became one of Morgan Stanley's most senior executives.
"We're fortunate to be backed by deep experts in fintech who have watched us go from a standing start to mandates with global Tier 1 banks in three years," said Mr Rooney.
"That's what's convinced them to back where the company goes next."
Hyperlayer's fundraising comes amid a flurry of activity in the UK fintech sector.
Mr Shamess added: "Hyperlayer's promise is clear: banks, credit unions and other financial institutions must modernise at fintech speed without ripping out the core systems that protect them.
"A year on, that thesis is proven with world-class customers and strong market pull."
