Tommy Robinson will not face charges over alleged assault at railway station

Tommy Robinson will not be charged over an alleged assault at St Pancras station last month after the Crown Prosecution Service decided "there was not a realistic prospect of conviction".

The 42-year-old far-right activist was arrested at Luton Airport on 4 August in connection with the incident, which took place on 28 July.

Footage on social media appeared to show Robinson, whose real name is Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, walking back and forth next to a man lying motionless on the ground.

British Transport Police said in a statement - which does not name Robinson - that the alleged victim "did not wish to provide a statement to the investigation".

The force added officers had gathered evidence, "including CCTV footage and witness statements", and had presented the prosecution file to the CPS.

"Following a review of the available evidence, the CPS concluded that there was not a realistic prospect of conviction and therefore there would be no criminal charges in this case," it said.

Robinson, who was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm, said on X that he had been defending himself in the incident. He also questioned why he had been arrested.

The British Transport Police previously said that the other man seen in the footage was taken to hospital with "serious injuries" but was discharged on 30 July.

It is understood that the victim does not want to pursue charges, and that CCTV footage showed him initially following Robinson as the activist walked away, before he was hit.
