A two-year-old boy has been seriously injured after a car crashed into a nursery school playground, police said.
A 63-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving after a car drove through a fence and into the playground of the school.
The toddler was taken to hospital by paramedics with "what are thought to be serious injuries".
His nursery is in Vale Road in the Whitby area of Ellesmere Port, Cheshire, and the accident happened at around 9.54am on Monday, police said.
Two other children suffered minor injuries in the crash.
Police and the North West Ambulance Service attended the scene and the boy's family have been told, Cheshire Constabulary said.
A Cheshire Constabulary spokesperson said: "Officers are currently on scene and are conducting a number of inquiries to fully establish the circumstances of what is believed to be an isolated incident."
