Police are appealing for witnesses after a collision in Royal Parade, Eastbourne, outside the Langham Hotel on Friday 7 November.
Emergency services were called at around 5.50pm after a grey Volkswagen Polo was involved in a collision with a pedestrian, a man in his 90s from Wadhurst. He was treated at the scene before being taken to hospital with serious injuries, and sadly died four days later. His family have been informed.
The 33-year-old Eastbourne driver was not injured.
Officers are investigating the circumstances and are urging anyone who witnessed the incident, or who has dashcam or CCTV footage from the area, to get in touch. They are particularly keen to hear from anyone who captured the victim or the vehicle in the moments before the collision.
