Police made three arrests and seized drugs and cash during warrants at three addresses in Bognor.

Officers acted on information and concerns over drug dealing or use at the homes in Flansham Park, Orchard Way, and Hawthorn Road.

Three simultaneous warrants were completed at 8am on Friday, 30 January.

Further searches at a storage container were also completed later in the day.

A 22-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of class A drugs and was taken into custody. He was subsequently charged.

A 27-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of possessing class A and class B drugs and have been bailed, pending further enquiries.

Detective Superintendent Col Garman said: “Officers from our Tactical Enforcement Unit carried out warrants as part of a planned operation, working alongside colleagues in the Neighbourhood Policing Team and our Crime Investigation Team.

“It follows information received about a drugs gang operating in Bognor, and during the course of our searches we found suspected class A drugs, class B drugs, and a large quantity of cash which has all been seized.

“We understand the concerns of residents about the impact of drug dealing and the associated crime and anti-social behaviour it can bring.

“That is why we are determined to disrupt the supply of drugs which cause so much harm in our communities.

“I would like to thank the public who have reported information to the police and CrimeStoppers about drug dealing in Bognor, and I would continue to urge anyone concerned by drugs offences to report information to the police.

“Crime reporting helps us to gather information and intelligence so we are able to understand criminal groups operating in the community and take effective action to catch offenders.”

Information can be reported to Sussex Police online or by calling 101, or alternatively contact CrimeStoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
