Businesses across the Chichester District are being invited to take part in a new survey looking at the local business climate.
Chichester District Council says the survey will help build a clearer picture of current economic conditions.
Running from 23 January to 6 March 2026, the survey asks businesses about the local economic conditions they operate in, the opportunities for growth and development, and the challenges they face. It also seeks to understand premises demand, future growth ambitions, and explores the impacts of climate change on businesses and their journey towards achieving net zero. The survey can be completed by visiting the Let's Talk Business survey(opens new window).
The information gathered will provide valuable insight into the needs and priorities of local businesses, helping the council and its partners to better understand the current business landscape.
Councillor Harsha Desai, Cabinet Member for Economic Development and Communications, Licensing and Events at Chichester District Council, says: "Local businesses are the backbone of our economy and are critical to a thriving local community. Our Economic Development team works closely with businesses to provide support and signpost opportunities, but this survey will help us gain a deeper understanding of the challenges and opportunities that these businesses face.
"The survey covers a wide range of topics, including business conditions and growth plans, recruitment and skills development, workforce barriers, cost-of-living pressures, environmental impacts, and growth needs. We want to hear from businesses of all sizes and sectors, and I would encourage as many as possible to take part before the survey closes at 11.59pm on Friday 6 March 2026.
"Our Economic Development Team offer a wide range of assistance to help support businesses, whether they are start-ups or growing companies or businesses looking to relocate to the area as part of our Invest Chichester programme. If any business is keen to learn more about the opportunities available within the district then I would strongly urge them to contact our Economic Development Team by emailing business.support@chichester.gov.uk or calling 01243 534669."
