Chichester police clamping down on knife crime

Officers from The Neighbourhood Policing Team have been in Chichester City Centre to provide information about Knife Crime.

It's part of a national police force operation called Sceptre and during the campaign the public can hand over knives without fear of prosecution in surrender bins at various locations.

This includes kitchen knives, pen knives, flick knives, machetes and other bladed items.

Officers have also been carrying out targeted patrols in the local area to reduce the number of offences.

People are reminded they have until next week to hand over their bladed weapons.
