The Littlehampton Community Fridge is appealing for public support as it approaches the busy Christmas period, following a recent move to new premises.

The Littlehampton Community Fridge provides free access to surplus food that would otherwise go to waste, helping residents who are struggling with the rising cost of living while also reducing environmental impact. The project supports many vulnerable people in the area, with organisers warning that without the service, some would go hungry.

However, the charity says the cost of running the fridge has more than doubled in recent months, putting significant pressure on its finances. To help cover those costs, a crowdfunding campaign has been launched with a target of £20,000.

There is some encouragement for donors, as all contributions are currently being match funded by Aviva, meaning every pound donated is effectively doubled. Organisers say this makes the final days of the campaign especially important, as increased support could have a major impact on reaching the target.

As demand continues to rise in the run-up to Christmas, the Littlehampton Fridge says continued funding is vital to keep the service running. Supporters are being encouraged to donate, share the appeal, or help spread the word to ensure the project can continue supporting both people and the planet through the winter and beyond.
