Country Food Trust Appeal to Feed People In Need In West Sussex

The charity has launched its fifth annual Winter Appeal, aimed at raising essential funds to provide nutritious, protein-rich meals to those facing food insecurity during the challenging winter months. Locally to benefit are: Stonepillow Chichester, Turning Tides and UK Harvest.

The charity is a national organisation which works with meat producers, farmers and land owners to take unwanted surplus meat and bring food such as venison, pheasant and turkey to the third sector in ready prepared meal pouches or raw meat to community kitchens.

The Country Food Trust's CEO, SJ Hunt, commented: “There is unlimited demand for our high protein ambient meals. Every pound donated through the Winter Appeal goes towards producing and distributing these fantastic meals to help feed people in need. Your generosity will make a difference to those facing food insecurity."

Protein is the most important food group for human health, but it is also the most expensive, which is why people with stretched finances reduce this food group first. Our meals provide that essential nutrition to improve the health and well-being of those most affected by food insecurity. Your support of the Winter Appeal will make a substantial difference in helping to feed people in need.
