Dog Show at Marriott House Lodge

Anything's paw-sible when you've got a dog!

V2 Radio has been catching up with Sarah Harding, one of the organisers of a dog show put on by Marriott House Lodge - and it sounds like it went down a treat.

V2 Radio Reporter: So can you tell us what they day way like?

Sarah: We love our dogs and we have hosted our very own dog show for residents, family, and friends to share their furry friends with us all too. Dogs have fun loveable quirks, tricks and general gorgeousness. So, on Saturday 31st July it was only fair to host our dog show at Marriott house and Lodge where we had a whole host of fun categories!

Group judging by dog-loving staff and residents at Marriott House and Lodge proved to be a great success, with 8 categories for our lovable pooches to enter, everyone went home happy with treats and rosettes. One of our care staff members Linzee had made her very own homemade dog treats, and her daughter Evie was, of course, our guest judge!

V2 Radio Reporter: It must have been a lot of fun?!

Sarah: We enjoyed hosting all of the lovely dogs on our award winning garden, and have some big dog fans at Barchester. The residents, staff and contestants had the greatest time and now have some amazing stories to share with their friends and families. We are continually adapting, and finding new ways to make sure every effort is focused on creating an enjoyable environment for all of our residents.

V2 Radio Reporter: So tell me a bit more about the Marriott House and Lodge then.

Sarah: Barchester Healthcare is one of the UK’s largest care providers supporting older people living independent lives with dignity and respect. We provide a wide range of services for a variety of needs. Barchester Healthcare support almost 12,000 residents across 236 homes for short breaks to long term stays. Our services include residential care and nursing care tailored to the individual. We also provide expert dementia care too.
