England boxing coach Mick Driscoll has been found guilty of sexually assaulting a woman on two occasions in 2019.

A court in Brighton returned a unanimous verdict, though the 56-year-old was cleared of a third charge.

Driscoll, who denied all allegations, will be sentenced in November.

Mick Driscoll made his name as one of the country’s leading amateur boxing coaches, building a reputation over decades in the sport.

He began working at well-known clubs such as West Ham Boys’ Club and Repton Boxing Club, where he was involved in training and mentoring young fighters. His coaching style and ability to develop talent soon earned recognition within the boxing community.

Driscoll went on to hold senior roles with England Boxing and the Great Britain set-up, helping to shape the careers of a number of national champions. His success in guiding athletes through the amateur ranks to compete at elite level brought him wider prominence and respect in the sport.

As a GB and England Boxing coach, Driscoll became a familiar figure at national competitions and international tournaments. His influence extended beyond the ring, with many crediting him for playing a pivotal role in the development of young athletes and for his commitment to grassroots boxing.

It was through this work, across clubs and national programmes, that Mick Driscoll rose to fame — recognised as one of the most respected figures in English amateur boxing.
