After nearly four months, the final cat abandoned outside The Cat and Rabbit Rescue Centre in Sidlesham has been safely rescued.
Fourteen cats were left at the centre in December 2025, including six kittens in a carrier, while others ran off.
Staff, with help from neighbours, managed to catch most in the weeks that followed.
The last remaining cat, a female, was finally spotted on CCTV in February and has now been brought into care.
General Manager of The Cat & Rabbit Rescue Centre, Ian Hughes, said: "Isra’s story highlights the dedication and compassion of our team and community. Every animal deserves safety and care, and we are overjoyed that she, along with the others, can finally start a new chapter."
Eleven of the cats have found forever homes, two are still waiting, and Isra will be looking for a new home very soon. The Cat & Rabbit Rescue Centre welcomes inquiries from potential adopters who can offer a safe, loving, and permanent home for its cats.
The Cat & Rabbit Rescue Centre was founded in 1986 and works to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome abandoned and unwanted cats, rabbits, and guinea pigs across West Sussex and Hampshire. The charity receives no government funding and relies entirely on donations from the public to continue its work.
