A former foster carer in Crawley has been charged with 21 sexual offences involving three young girls, spanning several decades.
Stanley Taylor, 94, of Theydon Close in Crawley, has been charged with 15 counts of indecent assault, two counts of sexual assault of a child, two counts of unlawful sexual intercourse with a girl and two charges of indecency with a child.
The allegations cover the period between 1971 and 2009, which includes Taylors’ time as a foster carer from 1971 to 1991. During this time, he is understood to have fostered around 20 children.
Sussex Police first received a report in November, 2019, and an investigation was launched while the victims were given specialist support.
Taylor was subsequently charged and placed on conditional bail, awaiting trial on 8 March, 2027.
