A major flood protection scheme has boosted safety for almost 200 homes across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.
The Environment Agency’s Property Flood Resilience Programme has already completed work on more than a 120 properties, with a further 70 being fitted with defences.
Homes receive tailored protection such as flood-resistant doors, pumps, and air brick covers, helping families stay safe and recover more quickly after flooding.
Vicky Spencer, Flood and Coastal Risk Management Advisor, Hampshire and IOW Partnership and Strategic Overview Team, Environment Agency, said:
“Flooding is devastating for families and communities, but through this programme we are taking proactive steps to improve resilience. By protecting homes and helping people to recover more quickly, we are making a real difference to people’s lives.
