A new charity walking event is set to take place next month, raising vital funds to support people experiencing homelessness across West Sussex.
The eight-mile trek, organised by Stonepillow, will take place on Saturday 2 May 2026, starting at Chichester Cathedral Green and finishing at Bognor Regis Sailing Club. Registration opens from 9am, with walkers setting off at 10am.
The event will guide participants through the heart of the communities where the charity works every day, providing support to people facing homelessness. Organisers say it is an opportunity for people to get active, enjoy the outdoors and make a meaningful difference locally.
Entry costs £15 for adults and £10 for young people aged 10 to 16, while children under 10 can take part for free. A family ticket for two adults and two youths is priced at £40. All participants will receive a commemorative T-shirt and medal.
Walkers are encouraged to aim for a fundraising target of £100 each, helping to boost the charity’s work across the region. Stonepillow provides a range of services including emergency accommodation, outreach support, and health and wellbeing initiatives for those in need.
The charity says the event is open to everyone, whether taking part individually or as part of a group with friends, family or colleagues. Participants will be supported along the route, with a relaxed celebration planned at the finish line by the sea in Bognor Regis.
Every step taken and every pound raised will go towards supporting some of the most vulnerable people in the local community. Organisers hope the event will not only raise funds but also increase awareness of the challenges faced by those experiencing homelessness.
