Sussex Police say they are assisting fire & ambulance services after a light aircraft crashed north of Goodwood Airfield this afternoon.
West Sussex Fire & Rescue Service have said crews from Chichester and their Technical Rescue Unit were in attendance at the incident this afternoon, after calls at around 16:40.
It is not known if there are any casualties as yet but there are fears that two people may have died in the crash.
Witnesses have said they saw a plane flying extremely low over Felpham and Boxgrove earlier this afternoon.
They urge people to continue to avoid the area as emergency services work at the scene.
New Road has been closed to traffic.
