Local Land Charges team nominated for two national awards

The Local Land Charges team at Arun District Council has been shortlisted for two award categories in the 2022 Land Data Local Land Charges Awards for Excellence. The awards celebrate the achievements and successes of local authority Local Land Charges departments across England and Wales during the past year.

The team are shortlisted for the Customer Satisfaction for Local Authority Searches award and the Local Authority Searches Team of the Year award.

Entries and nominations were submitted by solicitors, conveyancers, customer service experts and local land charges personnel. After a two-month period of judging the shortlist is now finalised, with 37 local authority teams and 10 individuals featured on the shortlist.

Fiona Barron, Chief Executive of Land Data, said:
“The past two years have been extremely tough for local land charge teams, with many staff changes and external demands on the role. It is therefore essential to acknowledge achievement and excellence in the profession. The comments we received from conveyancing solicitors whose local authorities go the extra mile to deliver an excellent customer service has been fantastic.”

Cllr Andy Cooper, Committee Chair of the Economy Committee said:

I am delighted to hear that the hard work the council’s Local Land Charges team do is once again being recognised nationally. Since the awards launched in 2008 our team has won or been highly commended in ten awards and been shortlisted a total of seventeen times, this really is a testament to what a great team they are.”

The awards will be presented virtually as part of the Local Land Charges Training & Development event on 8 and 9 March 2022.
