A man arrested after an incident in Middleton-on-Sea has appeared at Crawley Magistrates Court charged with drink driving.
Police found a vehicle stopped in the middle of Lane End Road at around 6 pm last Sunday with the driver asleep at the wheel.
Officers say they were assaulted by a man from the car, leaving one officer with a head injury requiring hospital treatment.
40-year-old Raimonds Vilde, of Sycamore Road in Bognor, was also charged with inflicting GBH on a police officer and assaulting another police officer.
