As 2025 draws to a close, all of us in the V2 Radio News team would like to wish you a very happy Christmas and thank you for choosing us as your trusted source of local news throughout the year.
It’s been another busy and challenging year across the South, and we’ve been there to report on the stories that matter most to our communities. From major incidents on our coastline, including shipping containers washing up on local beaches, to the pressures facing our NHS, we’ve worked hard to keep you informed, accurately and responsibly.
We’ve covered important decisions at county halls and town halls, from budget challenges and council tax debates to controversial planning proposals. We’ve reported on crime, including the very sad, noticeable increase in stabbings and shop and supermarket thefts, and brought you updates from police investigations and appeals for witnesses, while also highlighting the work being done to keep our communities safe.
2025 has also seen strong reaction to national issues playing out locally, including asylum accommodation plans, environmental concerns, water supply pressures and debates around children’s wellbeing and online safety.
We know how important local radio is, especially at times of uncertainty, and we’re grateful for the trust you place in us. Like many news outlets, we also get a great deal of information from you, sending us news tips and images to news@v2radio.co.uk, so thank you for your help.
As we head into Christmas, we know this time of year can be joyful for many, but difficult for others. Wherever you are and however you’re spending it, we hope V2 Radio continues to be a familiar and reliable companion.
From all of us in the V2 Radio News team, thank you for listening, and we wish you a peaceful Christmas and a healthy, hopeful New Year.
Thank you for listening,
