Petworth nominated for Britain in Bloom 2022

Petworth Town Council has confirmed that thanks to the magnificent efforts of the In Bloom volunteers and the support of the community, they have been put forward to the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Britain in Bloom competition.

The Town Council said on their website "We are a UK Finalist in the Small Town category!"

Having won gold in the two most recent South & South East in Bloom competitions (in 2020 & 2021), the Town has now been put forward for the prestigious national award.

Writing on their website the Council is asking for support from residents & to be part of the local effort to make sure the parish of Petworth really is blooming over the coming months, ready for the judges visits over the summer.

RHS Britain in Bloom is the largest horticultural campaign in the United Kingdom. It was first held in 1963, initiated by the British Tourist Board based on the example set by Fleurissement de France, which since 1959 has promoted the annual Concours des villes et villages fleuris. It has been organised by the RHS since 2002.
