Police are investigating a report of criminal damage and a break-in at a Co-op store on the High Street in Lindfield.
Officers were called to the scene in the early hours of yesterday morning, after reports that a vehicle had been reversed into the front of the shop, causing damage to the premises.
Police say a group of suspects involved in the incident left the area shortly afterwards in a separate vehicle. At this stage, it’s not believed that anything was stolen from the store.
Enquiries are continuing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident, including how many people were involved and the route taken by those who left the scene.
Local officers have been carrying out checks in the area and are reviewing any available CCTV footage from the High Street and surrounding roads. Police are also appealing for dashcam footage from drivers who may have been in the area around the time of the incident.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Sussex Police, quoting serial 23 of 12/02. Information can also be passed anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers.
