Portsmouth man jailed for three years for drug offences

A man from Portsmouth has been jailed for three years after officers found drugs and cash during a vehicle stop in Havant.

Officers were patrolling in Havant when they identified a person of interest in a white Citroen Berlingo on Park Way.

A vehicle search was subsequently conducted and officers found a quantity of Class A drugs in both the front and rear of the car.

Neil Heath (42) of Byerley Road in Portsmouth, was searched and a small amount of suspected Class A drugs and cash were found on his person.

This prompted a search of Heath’s address, in which officers located drugs of both Class A and B, as well as drug paraphernalia and a large quantity of cash.

Heath was arrested and charged with possessing a controlled drug of Class A with intent to supply, possessing a controlled drug of Class B drug with intent to supply and possessing criminal property.

Heath pleaded guilty to the offences and appeared at Portsmouth Crown Court, where he was sentenced to three years' imprisonment.
