An 'outstanding' local business has received praise from the Mayor of Worthing after winning the Queen's seal of approval.

The Letting Partnership, a client accounting and client money protection service, has won a Queen's Award for Enterprise after being commended for its innovative achievements.

The awards recognise trailblazers in the categories of innovation, as well as international trade, sustainable development and promoting opportunity through social mobility.

The Letting Partnership was set up in 2006 and sets out to raise the levels of professional standards and services within the lettings industry.

Every month, the company collects, processes and pays out over £20 million of client money, while providing agents with cost effective and risk-saving solutions to their client accounting.

The firm developed the Client Money HealthCheck service, a digital self-assessment platform that lettings agents can use to assess their compliance in accordance with government regulations.

As winners, staff will be invited to a Royal reception and presented with the award by one of The Queen's representatives, a Lord-Lieutenant.

Jennifer Markham, Managing Director at The Letting Partnership, said: “I'm thrilled to bits we've won this award, and I hope that in some way, it will be seen as a commitment from within our industry to raise professional standards by safeguarding the interests of landlords and tenants alike.”

This year, 205 UK businesses have been recognised for their contributions, 22 of which are from the South East.

The awards are valid for five years, and according to the Government, winners have reported benefiting from worldwide recognition, increased commercial value, greater press coverage and a boost to staff morale.

Those who win the award are able to fly The Queen's Awards flag at their main office, and use the emblem on marketing materials.

Councillor Lionel Harman, the Mayor of Worthing, said:

“It's absolutely fantastic to see a hardworking, local firm being recognised nationally for its outstanding achievements.

“The Letting Partnership is a clear example of a business paving the way in its industry as a firm which sets the benchmark for how things should be done.

“I wholeheartedly congratulate the team, and hope winning the award brings them further recognition.”
