Southern Water announce hosepipe ban, but not for all customers.

Southern Water has announced temporary hosepipe restrictions for its customers in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.

It will come into force next Monday at 9am.

Southern Water said on its website some customers in the ban area may still be able to continue as normal "We recognise that customers with medical needs may still need to use a hosepipe. Customers on our Priority Services Register with medical or mobility needs, including Blue Badge holders and those on our WaterSure tariff, are exempt. Anything you can do to reduce or avoid hosepipe use would be greatly appreciated."

In other areas of the Southern Water region, without the ban, customers are being asked to use water wisely.

Meanwhile, a hosepipe ban by South East Water will take effect this Friday across parts of Sussex and Kent.

The company says water demand has soared to unprecedented levels, hitting 680 million litres on the 30th of June 2025.
