Sussex personality Katie Price has been disqualified from driving for a seventh time after failing to respond to police over a speeding offence.
The former glamour model, who is based in Horsham, was linked to a vehicle caught travelling at 80 miles per hour in North Yorkshire. Police issued a notice in relation to the offence, but Price failed to respond, leading to further action being taken.
As a result, she has now been handed a six-month driving ban by the courts, along with fines totalling more than £1,000.
It is the latest in a long history of motoring offences for the media personality, who has previously faced multiple driving disqualifications. Under UK law, failing to respond to a notice from police in relation to a traffic offence can itself result in penalties, including points on a licence and financial sanctions.
The case was dealt with in her absence after she did not engage with the process. The court heard details of the speeding incident and the subsequent lack of response before issuing the latest ban.
Driving bans are typically imposed when motorists accumulate a certain number of penalty points or fail to comply with legal requirements linked to road traffic offences.
The six-month disqualification means Price is now prohibited from driving for the duration of the ban, unless successfully appealed.
