The latest coronavirus figures for West Sussex

All areas in West Sussex are seeing a the number of coronavirus cases fall.

Two weeks into the third national lockdown and Sussex is seeing a continued improvement in its infection rates.

The latest figures, based on the rate of new cases in the seven days to January 12, show that four areas are now below England’s average (537.9).

Adur has seen 347 new cases with a rolling rate of 539.6 per 100,000. 

Chichester has 585 new cases but still under the average at 483.0 per 100,000. 

Horsham has 569 new cases with 395.7 per 100,000 - the lowest rate per the amount. 

And Mid Sussex has 617 new cases with a rate of 408.5 per 100,000. 

Meanwhile, the rest of the areas are above England's average with Arun at 608.4 cases per 100,000, Crawley at 864.7 per 100,000, and Worthing at 653.9 per 100,000. 

West Sussex in total has seen 4,791 new covid-19 cases with a rolling rate of 554.5 per 100,000.
