Two arrested in connection with serious assault in Bognor Regis

Police investigating a report of a serious assault in Bognor Regis have arrested two suspects.

Officers were called to Chichester Road at 5pm on Tuesday (20 July) following reports of two suspects assaulting a man outside the Royal Oak pub before driving off in a car.

A 40-year-old man suffered serious injuries and remains in hospital for treatment.

Two men - both aged 20 and from Pagham - were arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent. They remain in custody for questioning.

The assault is being treated as isolated and enquiries continue to establish the circumstances of the incident.
