Walk- in sessions for COVID-19 vaccination available in Worthing this Saturday for all those over 12

A special vaccination session is taking place in Worthing this weekend to make it as easy as possible for people to receive their COVID-19 vaccination

This Saturday, 12 February there will be a walk-in vaccination session in the Town Centre
from 11am-4pm, for everyone over the age of 12 who wishes to get their 1st , 2nd, or booster vaccination.

The team will be on site between Chapel Road and Warwick Street.

No appointment is needed at these sessions, and you can simply turn up, receive advice and information, and your vaccination.

If you are aged 12 to 15, please bring a consenting adult with you.

With Covid-19 still very prominent in our communities the best way you can help is to get
vaccinated.

Latest data from UKHSA shows that boosters significantly reduce the risk of death from Omicron. The findings show that around six months after a second dose of any of the coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccines, protection against death with Omicron was around 60% in those aged 50 and over. However, this increased to around 95% two weeks after receiving a booster vaccine dose.

To date, 85.1% of the eligible population in Sussex have had their first dose, 80.2% have had their second dose and 84.7% of the eligible population have had their booster.

The NHS is saying it is never too late to come forward – and are calling for anyone who is yet to have their first, second or booster vaccine to come forward to sessions like this one at the weekend.

A spokesperson for the Sussex COVID-19 Vaccination Programme, said:

“We would urge everyone to get their vaccinations when eligible to do so. Having all of the vaccines you are eligible for makes sure you have the best protection against Omicron and other Covid-19 variants.
“If you are aged 12 to 15 please make sure you have your first and second when it is due.
“And if you are aged 16 and over, if you received your second vaccine over three months ago you are now eligible to receive your booster. It is important you do this as your protection from the first two doses will be reducing.
