It’s a busy weekend of football across Sussex and Hampshire, with several local sides in action — though Brighton’s men’s team have a week off before returning to Premier League duties.

Brighton and Hove Albion are not playing this weekend, with their next fixture a home clash against Newcastle United at the Amex next Saturday. However, the club’s women’s team are in action on Sunday, facing a tough test away to Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.

In League One, Portsmouth also have a break this weekend before travelling to Leicester City next Saturday. But Pompey’s women’s side take centre stage in an eagerly anticipated south coast derby, as they host Southampton on Sunday.

Southampton’s men’s team are back in action next weekend too, when they host Swansea City at St Mary’s.

Crawley Town, meanwhile, are in League Two action today as they welcome Walsall to the Broadfield Stadium. Scott Lindsey’s side will be looking to continue their strong run of form at home, where they’ve built momentum in recent weeks.

In the National League South, Worthing return to the pitch on Monday night when they face Forest Green Rovers at the Sussex Transport Community Stadium. Worthing Women, though, are in action sooner — they travel tomorrow to face Marine Academy as they look to keep their good start to the season going.

Elsewhere, Bognor Regis Town are away to Hendon this afternoon, with kick-off at 3pm, while Chichester City have a home fixture against Lewes.

Selsey FC are also in league action today, playing at home to AFC Walcountians, also kicking off at 3pm. After an impressive comeback win last weekend — overturning a two-goal deficit to win 4–2 — Selsey will be hoping for another strong performance in front of their home supporters.

With matches across all levels of the game this weekend, fans across the region have plenty of football to enjoy — from grassroots action to the women’s Super League spotlight in London.
