A man has come forward following an appeal to identify him as a key witness to support an ongoing investigation.
Police are investigating a report of rape in Worthing town centre that happened at about 3am on 25 October in an alley behind the Guildbourne Shopping Centre car park and Chatsworth Road.
A 45-year-old woman has received support from specially-trained officers.
Police previously arrested a 42-year-old local man on suspicion of rape, and he has been bailed, pending further enquiries.
On 11 November, Sussex Police also issued an appeal to identify a man in his 20s as a witness in the investigation. The man has since come forward to support our enquiries.
Anyone with information is urged to come forward to Sussex Police online or by calling 101 and quoting Operation Morley.
