A yellow weather warning remains in force today as further heavy rain is forecast across parts of West Sussex and Hampshire.
The Met Office says some areas could see up to 30-millimetres of rainfall, raising concerns about further flooding and disruption, particularly in low-lying and already saturated areas.
There are still significant problems on the A29 around Shripney, where flooding has continued to affect traffic. Motorists are being advised to avoid the route where possible and allow extra time for journeys. Elsewhere in West Sussex, parts of Sidlesham remain flooded, with standing water causing difficulties for local roads and access.
Flooding is also ongoing at Barcombe Mills in East Sussex, where high river levels and saturated ground have led to repeated issues in recent days. Drivers and pedestrians are being urged to take care in the area, with conditions expected to remain challenging while the heavy rain continues.
The unsettled weather is also causing problems beyond the mainland. On the Isle of Wight, drivers are being warned to take extra care on roads around Brading and Sandown, where surface water has been reported and conditions could deteriorate quickly during heavier downpours.
The Met Office says the yellow warning highlights the risk of localised flooding, difficult driving conditions and possible delays to transport services. Residents in affected areas are being advised to stay up to date with the latest forecasts, check travel conditions before setting off, and avoid driving through floodwater.
The warning is in place until midnight.
