Lucy Beresford
Musical taste: I love all sorts, from INXS to big power ballads, but my friends would say I’m a bit of a Pop Bunny! Lots of Girls Aloud and Katy Perry and Britney. Basically anything I can sing along to at the top of my voice. Plus I’m also a big fan of musical theatre, especially Stephen Sondheim.
How long have you been involved in radio: Around twenty years now, having first appeared on BBC Radio 4’s You and Yours in 2001. I had my own Agony Aunt slot on BBC Radio London, and then hosted my own weekly phone-in show on LBC for 3 years. This was followed TalkRADIO where I was the occasional on-air wife of Eamonn Holmes as well as hosting Late Nights with Lucy.
Best radio experience: The most surreal moment was when two tantric practitioners from California came into my LBC studio to give me a fully-clothed couples’ massage live on air. The clip is still on my Instagram page @thelucyberesford1
Favourite part of West Sussex: Can I have 2 places? Pagham Harbour is one of my favourite places in the whole world, for its unspoilt beauty and abundance of wildlife. And Chichester Festival Theatre, which gives me goosebumps every time I see a show.
What excites you about V2 Radio: I’ve long felt that radio helps people feel really heard, whether that’s getting a song request played or having their voice or opinion on-air. I love that V2 is broadening the reach to make even more people feel like they have a voice in the world.
