Where in Sussex are you based: Currently in Eastbourne, but I've been happy living in many places in Sussex and along the south coast over the years. I'm happy so long as I'm not too far from the sea. I do enjoy the Sussex countryside too, but I get hay fever in the summer - so I tend to stay by the coast!
Musical taste: Actually, it's incredibly varied; spanning pop from the 70s to today, musicals, jazz, and a bit of classical when I'm in the mood. I don't do genres as such though. A good song is a good song.
How long have you been involved in radio: 25 years this year (some would say that's far too long). I've been fortunate enough to have worked for some great radio stations and brands over the years; and far more special to me, working alongside some brilliantly fun and inspirational people.
Best radio experience: I've always enjoyed working on outside broadcasts; where you get out, meet people and discover places. They're always fun. It's also been a privilege over the years to share studio space with some of those I grew up listening to, as well as to spend time meeting the 'stars'. Some of the old pros who were big names in the 70s and 80s are often the nicest, most humble and funniest people to meet and interview.
Favourite part of Sussex: If you're asking for a town, then Arundel. I love the traditional feel. It's great on both a crisp, cold winter day as well as in the basking sun of summer. Traditional shops, good places to eat, the imposing castle, the stunning cathedral, walks along the banks of the River Arun - what's not to like? Otherwise, a good walk anywhere on the South Downs is always enjoyable (suggestions welcome), as is a coastal walk anywhere East or West. I've yet to do the South Downs Way though. I absolutely must.
What excites you about V2 Radio: There's something very special about local radio. Done well it connects communities, informs, provides a sense of identity, and offers friendship day and night. The team at V2 are among the best in the business, so it's great to be able to join in every now and then!
