The hour-long film follows Walker over the past 5 years, creating work around themes of childcare and nurture in relation to women’s work, subjects that are central to her current exhibition at Pallant House Gallery, Caroline Walker: Mothering.
Walker’s work explores the diverse social, economic and cultural experiences of women living in contemporary society. From midwives to care workers, from chambermaids to migrant workers, Walker paints the unseen, often underpaid work of women everywhere.
This screening is followed by a Q&A with Caroline Walker and Chief Curator, Melanie Vandenbrouck.
Caroline Walker Mothering is organised by The Hepworth Wakefield in collaboration with Pallant House Gallery.
