A third teenager has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following the stabbing of five boys at a party in Chandler’s Ford, Hampshire, which has left a 17-year-old in a life-threatening condition.
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary confirmed that a 16-year-old boy from Bristol was arrested overnight as detectives continue investigating the serious assault in Park Road on Saturday 31 October.
The latest arrest follows the detention of two other teenage boys, aged 16 and 17, both from Southampton, who were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.
All three remain in police custody.
The investigation began after five teenagers were stabbed shortly after 10.30pm while attending a supervised party at an address in Park Road.
Police said an uninvited group had jumped over a garden fence before attacking guests in the garden and surrounding streets.
The victims were three boys aged 16 and two aged 17.

Four of the teenagers suffered serious injuries but have since been discharged from hospital.
The fifth victim, a 17-year-old boy, remains in hospital in a life-threatening condition.
Detectives from the Major Crime and Criminal Investigation Departments are continuing to review CCTV and other footage, alongside information provided by witnesses, to establish the circumstances surrounding the attack.
Senior investigating officer Detective Chief Inspector Elizabeth Pirie thanked members of the public who had already assisted the investigation.
"I want to thank everyone who has already come forward to speak about what they saw on the night, or share with us any footage they have.
"Our team are working incredibly hard to understand what happened and identify anyone who may have been involved.
"We now have arrested three boys, but we still want to hear from you if you have any information which could assist us. However small it may seem to you, it may be key to our enquiries."
Police have also increased patrols around Chandler’s Ford and are providing support to local schools and colleges following the incident.
Chief Inspector Rachel Noble, district commander for Eastleigh, acknowledged the impact the violence had on the community.
"The violence witnessed on Saturday night will have undoubtedly been extremely distressing and concerning for everyone who was at the party.
"It is really important to us that everyone knows what support is available for them, should they want to talk about, and how they can report anything to us so the investigation team can continue with their enquiries."
She added that officers would continue patrolling the Park Road area and encouraged anyone with concerns to speak to them.
Anyone with information about the stabbing is urged to contact Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary on 101, quoting reference 44260534624.
Information can also be provided anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or through its website at https://crimestoppers-uk.org/.
