Chichester Rangers are hosting a charity football match this month to raise money for a local child who is battling stage 4 cancer.
The fixture, which takes place on Saturday the 7th of November at the club’s home ground, Tangmere Village Centre, and kicks off at 1pm. The game is in aid of Masion, who is the younger brother of one of the club’s U14 girls players.
The match is a role reversal of the usual set-up within Chichester Rangers.
One team (The Tacticians) who are being made up by various Chichester Rangers managers and coaches, will face off against a team of friends and family of the club (The Touchline Tribe).
Meanwhile, the club’s youth players, who are usually aged between six and 13, will take charge. They will lead the teams out onto the pitch, take over the role of managers and coaches, and run the warm-ups and team talks.
A spokesperson for the club said the event was a way of giving back to a deserving member of the local community, and that the club was sad to see Masion’s family facing such a difficult time.
The match is open to the community, and organisers hope to raise as much money as possible to support Masion and his family.
