The daughter of a taxi driver who died in a car crash in Bolton which also killed three teenagers has described him as the "gentlest soul".

Masrob Ali, a 54-year-old father-of-four, died when his Citroen C4 Picasso collided with a red Seat Leon in Wigan Road in the early hours of 11 January.

The driver of the Seat and two passengers, all believed to be men aged between 18 and 19, were named locally by the Bolton Council of Mosques on Sunday as Mohammed Jibrael Mukhtar, Farhan Patel and Muhammad Danyaal Asghar Ali.

Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said five other people were hurt in the crash, including a 29-year-old woman, travelling in the Citroen, whose injuries were described as "potentially life-threatening".

CCTV footage from a nearby property shared online showed a head-on crash, before both cars and debris were sent flying in different directions.

Daughter Humayra Ali, 29, told LancsLive "I've watched the CCTV of the crash. The police advised me against it, but I had to see it.

"I just can't get my head around the fact that he'll never walk back through the door.

"I keep thinking it's just a horrible dream and I'm going to wake up and none of this is real."

Ms Ali also paid tribute to her father, who she described as the "gentlest soul".

She added: "Everyone has said he was the gentlest soul. Nobody had a bad word to say against him.

"He was so hardworking. He did everything for his family."

GMP Detective Inspector Andrew Page confirmed an investigation into the crash was under way and urged people to "be mindful" of circulating the footage online.

He said: "We are still in the early stages of our investigation and work is ongoing to establish the full circumstances of this terrible incident.

"As an investigation team we would encourage people to be mindful of sharing footage on social media given the impact this will have on all the families involved in such a tragic incident."

Councillor Ayyub Patel, of Bolton Council, told Sky News the "incredibly tragic incident" had left the whole community "devastated".
