The A27 has been closed eastbound near Chichester due to a serious road traffic collision in the early hours of Saturday morning (11th June 2022)
The incident was confirmed just after 3am and the road remains closed eastbound.
The A27 Arundel Road is closed eastbound between the A285 turn-off for Halnaker and Petworth, and the A29 Fontwell Avenue junction for the Fontwell Services Roundabout, just outside of Chichester.
Sussex Police and other emergencies attended the scene. However, there is no update as yet as to when the road will re-open.
Stagecoach say that "due to this road closure on the A27 Service55 - Tangmere is unable to Halnaker or Boxgrove, we are diverting to maintain as much service as possible".
Traffic heading east should take the hollow diamond diversion symbol. At the Bognor Road roundabout, take the A259 Bognor Road eastbound off the A27. Continue on the A29 northbound after the A259/A29 Oldlands Way roundabout and re-join the A27 eastbound again.
