Additional funding in Hampshire to create extra breakfast and after-school places

Hampshire County Council will dish out more than £190,000 in grants to provide extra wraparound care for primary school pupils.

Breakfast and after-school clubs serving 14 schools in the county bid for the money.

The funding, which comes from a Department for Education pot of money, will create 361 places for children in a bid to support working families.

Clubs will be run by schools, private companies, voluntary organisations and independent providers. These will either be at schools or other locations.

Here is the list of the schools that will be expanding their childcare provision:

  • Whiteley Primary School is to provide an extra 22 places in the after-school club.
  • Whiteley Primary School is to provide an extra 16 places in the after-school club.
  • Ranvilles Infant School, Fareham, is to provide an extra 70 places in the after-school club.
  • Cliddesden Primary School, Basingstoke, is to provide an extra 12 places in the after-school club.
  • Eling Infant School & Nursery School, Totton, is to provide an extra 20 places in both breakfast and after-school clubs.
  • Bordon Infant School, Bordon, is to provide an extra 16 places in both the breakfast and after-school clubs.
  • St Peter’s Catholic Primary School, Waterlooville, is to provide an extra 10 places in the breakfast club.
  • St Peter’s Catholic Primary School, Waterlooville, is to provide an extra 60 places in the after-school club.
  • OIiver’s Battery Primary School, in Winchester is to provide extra an additional 10 places in after school its after-school club.
  • OIiver’s Battery Primary School in Winchester expand time is expanding its capacity by an extra 30 places.
  • Silchester C of E Primary School, Reading, is to provide an additional 30 places in both the breakfast and after-school clubs.
  • Silchester C of E Primary School, Reading, is to provide an additional 12 places in its after-school club.
  • Langrish Primary School, Petersfield, is to provide an additional 50 places in its after-school club.
  • Mill Hill Primary School, Waterlooville, is to create a full wraparound with 20 places.
