Sussex Weald MP Nusrat Ghani says she’s angry that she feels Wealden District Council hasn’t shared details about plans to house hundreds of asylum seekers at Crowborough Training Camp.
The MP has written to the Home Secretary asking for clarity on the scheme, part of the government's plans to move migrants out of hotels.
V2 Radio has sent a message to Wealden District Council for a right of reply, so far, they’ve not commented on the matter of the accusations of not sharing plans, but the council did say the Home Office has told them and other local service providers that it intends to use the Camp as a temporary asylum accommodation centre for up to 12 months from the end of next month.
Nusrat Ghani MP released this statement on her website:

This is the letter she has sent to the government asking for clarity.

A petition has now been launched by the MP for those apposing government plans to house asylum seekers in Crowbrough, you can find out more here. No Asylum Housing - Crowborough Training Camp | Nus Ghani
