Appeal after 100 year old car overturns in Maresfield

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was seriously injured in a collision in Maresfield.

An investigation is underway after a vintage car overturned on the A272 near the Batts Bridge Roundabout on Wednesday morning.

The incident happened at around 8.40am on 23rd July, when a black 1915 Ford travelling eastbound overturned close to a junction. No other vehicles were involved.

Emergency services attended the scene and recovered both the vehicle and its two occupants.

The driver, an 83-year-old man from Middlesex, was taken to hospital with potentially life-changing injuries. The passenger, a 69-year-old man from East Sussex, was also seriously injured and taken to hospital for treatment.
