More people are being encouraged to take part in this year’s Big Sleep Out, which will once again be held in the grounds of Chichester Cathedral.
The event, organised by local homelessness charity Stonepillow, takes place on Saturday 20th September 2025 and aims to raise both awareness and vital funds to support people experiencing homelessness across the community.
Participants will spend the night outdoors, building temporary shelters, bedding down under the stars, and taking part in activities designed to highlight the daily challenges faced by those without secure accommodation.
Alongside the sleep out itself, the day will feature live entertainment, food stalls, a judged shelter-building competition with prizes, and an ecumenical service inside the cathedral before music and community activities round off the evening.
Stonepillow says the event is more than just one night outside, describing it as “a powerful opportunity to show solidarity, raise awareness, and contribute to life-changing work supporting those in need.”
Those signing up will receive a fundraising pack with tips and resources to help raise money, with Stonepillow encouraging participants to set up a JustGiving page connected to the official fundraising campaign.
