A man has been sentenced for supplying Class A and B drugs in Brighton.

On 22 February, officers were conducting mobile patrols when they observed a member of the public flagging down a man in Sillwood Street.

The pair entered a property together, and within 10 second, the man who had been flagged down, reemerged from the property entrance.

With strong suspicions a drugs deal had just taken place, officers exited their car and detained the suspect to be searched.

The man, identified as Hamza Adanir, 26, of The Green, Ealing, was found to have a pick and mix of drugs in his possession.

Ketamine, cocaine, cannabis, and cash were seized. Subsequently Adanir was arrested and taken to custody.

On 24 February, Adanir appeared at Brighton Magistrates' Court, charged with possession with intent to supply a Class A drug, and two counts of possession with intent to supply a Class B drug.

At court he pleaded guilty to the offences and was remanded ahead of his sentencing.

Adanir appeared at Lewes Crown Court and was jailed for 18 months.
